We train a dog using its own natural instincts, intelligence and desire to please -- without a shock collar! TDK Trainers use this drive, along with behavioral science and advanced knowledge of how a dog thinks, to teach dogs new skills and great obedience through the joy of success rather than the fear of corrections.

Our facility has a doggy day care play yard and several indoor play areas. Unlike most doggy day cares, we do not crate dogs at rest time. Add overnight boarding in our Sam’s Town Cottages. We have lovingly created a unique village of cottages that replicate a home environment.

Our Husky is a proud graduate of The Dog Knowledge’s 3 week training program, which she attended approximately one year ago, and we still couldn’t be happier with the results!

Most of the research that my fiancé and I had done about Huskies told us that they can never really be trusted off leash because they just like to run so much, and therefore it seems that most people resign themselves to always keeping their Husky on a leash. At the end of our 3 week session, we asked Debbie about this, and she said “I could take her off the leash now, and she will follow me.” While I know [Harley's trainers] do some magic with dogs, I was skeptical, but Harley followed her just as she said. Debbie said that one day we’d be able to do this too, but again I was skeptical, and I thought maybe when Harley is very old we’ll be able to take her off the leash, but not before.

Well, Harley is now 1.5 years old, and after lots of running around on a 50 foot leash, we decided to give her a shot at hiking through the mountains in upstate New York with no leash to see how she did. She was an absolute pleasure, stayed right by us the whole time, and once she started getting too far ahead of us she even stopped and turned around to wait for us….giving us a puzzled look as to why we humans are so slow at the same time.

I know that we never could have done this without the training she received at The Dog Knowledge, and if and when we get another dog, although we live in NYC, we will be driving down to Charlotte with the puppy for training at The Dog Knowledge.

Thanks to The Dog Knowledge! We (and Harley) never could have done this without you!!
